Quick Setup 🏎️
Step 1: Installation
- Connect the Antelope to your computer using the USB-C cable. Ensure it is connected directly to the computer and not to a USB HUB, as it may not receive enough power.
- There are two cables available: USB A and USB C; choose and switch the cables at the back of the audio interface based on your machine. Once powered on, the screen will light up.
- At this stage, you should already be able to use it as an audio device and hear sound. If not, or to use it fully, follow the next steps.
Step 2: Drivers
- Mac users: Download the Antelope Launcher driver here.
- Windows users: Download the Antelope Launcher driver here..
Step 3: Configuration
- Install the Antelope Unified Drivers in the “System” tab of the Launcher.
- Restart your computer.
- Ensure the Antelope is selected as the default audio device in your audio settings.
Step 4: Connections
- The microphone located in the booth is connected to track 1; simply adjust the gain using the main potentiometer.
- You can also connect a guitar or another microphone directly to track 2 via the combo (XLR or Jack) input on the back of the audio interface.
- The main potentiometer is also a button; it allows you to navigate through tracks and settings. It can also be long-pressed to change the 48V.
Step 5: Audio Software
- Open your preferred Digital Audio Workstation (DAW).
- Select the Antelope as your audio device in the settings.
- Antelope also has a mixing console named ZenGo Control Panel. This console allows you to use the internal effects of the audio interface, which can be downloaded from the site and the Plug-ins tab of the Launcher. More information in this video.
Step 6: Recording and Playback
- Create an audio track in your DAW and choose the Antelope input.
- Start recording by pressing the record button.
- For playback, select the Antelope output in your DAW.
1/4 - “Gain” Button 🎚️
- Press once to select the desired input.
- Press the rotary button to choose the function (Mic, Line, or Hi-Z) (Leave on “Mic” for the booth microphone).
- Long press the rotary button to turn 48V on or off.
- Turn the rotary button to adjust the input gain.
- Long press ‘Gain’ to access the control menu.
- Press the ‘Antelope’ button to exit.
2/4 - “HP/MON” Button 🎧/🔊
- Press (and hold) ‘HP/MON’ to cycle through volume adjustments for headphone outputs (HP1, HP2) and speakers (Mon).
- Turn the rotary button to adjust the volume.
- Press the rotary button to mute and unmute the sound.
- Press the ‘Antelope’ button to exit.
3/4 - Rotary Button ⚫
- Large notched encoder for precise adjustment of gain, volume, and other values. It is also used for navigating menus.
- When not in a menu, turn the encoder to adjust the monitoring output volume.
- When not in a menu, press the encoder to mute or unmute the monitoring outputs.
4/4 - “Antelope” Button 🦌
- When in a menu, press the button to exit.
